River

“River” is an all-American style fox red Labrador Retriever with the most divine, trainable temperament you could hope for. Bred from Sire Thunder and Dam Lady, she is the result of a thoughtfully planned pairing that brings forward some of the finest American working genetics lines known for producing structurally correct, healthy dogs with sound temperaments and true breed type.

From the beginning, River has continued to exceed every expectation we had for her. She’s continued to be  a confident, athletic and beautifully balanced young female, combining striking, rich colour with a feminine yet powerful presence. She is fit, strong and well put together, with excellent structure and free, effortless movement.

River is an exceptionally quick learner with genuine, genetically driven intelligence. Highly biddable and incredibly smart, she is always willing to give anything a try. Her natural enthusiasm for training makes her an absolute pleasure to develop. She thrives on both structured obedience and problem-solving challenges, demonstrating clarity of mind and a strong desire to work in partnership with her handler. We are currently preparing River for a range of sports under Dogs Australia, where her focus, work ethic, versatility and trainability are already shining through in her training preparation

During her critical puppy development period, River was carefully exposed to a wide variety of environments, sounds, surfaces and real-world scenarios. This intentional foundation work has shaped her into a robust, environmentally stable adolescent who approaches new experiences with confidence and curiosity. She displays excellent nerve strength without being overly assertive, balancing drive with an, easy temperament.

Above all, River is an absolute joy to live and work with. She is fun, driven, affectionate and deeply connected to her handler. Her willingness, balanced temperament and team oriented nature reflect the strength of her pedigree and the care taken in her upbringing.

We are incredibly proud of how River is maturing and look forward to watching her continue to develop into a versatile, capable and true example of the Labrador Retriever breed  both in performance and as a representative of her carefully selected breeding.
